About the Lanka Business Ring (LBR)
A legacy of over two decades, driving prosperity in the Central Province.
Our Journey and Commitment
A History of Growth and Unity
The LBR began its journey in 2004 with just two founding members. From these humble beginnings, we have demonstrated rapid, organic growth, establishing ourselves as the leading business association in Kandy. Our goal is to reach a core membership of 160 by 2025 as we continue to attract the highest calibre of entrepreneurs and professionals.
A Diverse and Extensive Network
LBR's strength lies in its inclusive diversity, representing entrepreneurs, professionals, traders, industrialists, and institutional representatives from Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim, Burgher, and Malay communities.
Beyond our formal membership, our reach is extensive: we maintain the largest business WhatsApp network in the Central Province with over 1000 participants, and we established the first member council in Nuwara Eliya, cementing our influence across the Central Hills region (spanning Central, Western, Southern, and Eastern Provinces).
Our Core Values
- Inclusivity: Representing all communities (Sinhalese, Tamil, Malay, etc.).
- Authority: Partnering with key governmental and commercial bodies.
- Professional Support: Through the dedicated Mentor's Hub service.
- Progress: Championing digital transformation and future-forward strategies.
Our Leadership
LBR is led by experienced professionals dedicated to improving the business environment, protecting the rights of entrepreneurs, and enhancing member profitability and welfare. We are structured to facilitate growth and influence policy both regionally and nationally.
